What only slightly scary? (only joking) - I wouldn't worry about your job, they need you... anyway are you quite sure you're not a psycho rapist? - I mean it's important to be quite clear about that kind of thing.

More of a surprise than generally scary. I hope they do, otherwise it makes it a bit pointless being anywhere, really.
I am pretty sure that I am not, but if you have any suspisions...

In a wider social sense, this is the problem with short term contracts in general - how can people be expected to contribute meaningfully when their employers aren't prepared to give anything meaningful in return...

Although in my case the short-term contract was only the issue because of the reason I came here in the first place, it was never determined that I would leave after I had completed the "qualification" with ETS - and obviously that is the case with everyone that joins in my position. I'm just waiting for the whole thing to be reviwed.
Displaying enthusiasm, dedication and intellect certainly aids the situation, I think.

I know - anyway myself and Ben have always maintained that it is stupid to get rid of people as soon as you have trained them up... is it really nine months?

Yeah, seems a little pointless: "I know, let's spend 12 months of our time training these people in how to work for a company like ours, then get rid of them so that they leave with the knowledge of how our company works, but work for somebody else."
That doesn't make a lot of sense really, does it? Yeah, September I started. Madness!
